Avast gets stuck during scanning on my note 9 and keeps on showing updating virus database
I uninstalled and installed 3 times.  With every install it works 2 or 3 times and then get stuck.
On my PC it works perfectly fine but not on mobile

Hi, thanks for letting us know, have you tried to clean the app data and cache?
device Settings > Apps > Avast Mobile Security > Clean data, Clean cache

We would like to try to reproduce the issue, can you please share these details?
- device manufacturer and type
- Avast app version
- your Android version
- any ROM modifications?

Hi, we need more information, which we can get, if you contact us directly from the app:

- open the Avast Mobile Security app
- tap the three-lines-icon in the upper left corner
- in the menu select "Help & Support"
- on the very top tap on "Avast direct support"
- a contact form will appear
- write in your first and second name + your email address
- in the "Describe your issue in detail" please describe your issue
- submit the message

If you post a message here afterwards, I can ask my colleagues to find your ticket and react to it in advance.

I have observed that when avast goes into the virus database updation mode, it hangs.  Otherwise it works ok

In such case please check your Internet connection and try some other way (another Wi-Fi or mobile data network).

Same thing happened again,  got stuck at updating virus database.
I think this is hopeless,  better to uninstall
Anyway thanks for the efforts to make it work
