Avast Free Real-Time Protection

Does Avast free version include Real-Time protection?
Im guessing so as it disabled Windows Defender’s Real-Time protection. I dont think it would have otherwise.

All AV (except ClamAV) have real time protection

Avast doesn't actually disable the Windows Defender’s Real-Time protection, that is done by the operating system/windows defender security centre.  This is done when an AV with real-time protection is installed.
