Are email alerts gone?

I have been using the Avast Free version for many years now. It seems that in one of the major updates, the email notifications/alerts are not an option anymore. I found an option to "show old settings", which has email alerts, and I can send a successful test email. However, when I get a real alert that Avast has blocked something, it does not send me an email notification. Is this feature gone, or am I missing something?

Current version 19.5.2378 (build 19.5.4444.506) on Win10Pro

I have never been able to send/receive an email on an avast alert (using eicar files) in over 15 years of using avast free. 

Yes I can get the test email.

So it doesn't appear that this feature has gone (yes the current UI is very poor), for me it never worked.
