Unable to activate new Avast Intenet Security license

Hello,

I have purchased a two year license key from Newegg for Avast Internet Security after being a free edition user for quite some time. They key provided does not work, returning a "Something went wrong..." message when attempting to redeem it. I've followed the instructions laid out in other threads on this board in clearing out the installation with Avast clear, but that does not appear to make a difference in registering the key.

I was able to resolve this issue myself. For any other users that may happen upon this thread and have not had success using the methods outlined in this forum when Avast is not activating, check your firewall rules, or router's firewall rules. I had configured somewhat strict rules on mine, and temporarily turning them off allowed Avast to activate successfully.
