mediaonline.me adware
« on: July 19, 2019, 11:06:34 PM »
I have recently attracted some sort of adware/virus that regularly shows banners with links to a website called mediaonline.me

If I search online for "mediaonline.me" there is a number of websites with similar text, which all end up claiming that gridinsoft anti-virus can remove this virus. I cannot find any other information regarding the virus. Neither avast, Windows Defender nor Malwarebytes finds anything on my computer.

It seems too good to be true that gridinsoft is the only solution able to remove this particular virus and I honestly suspect that the virus and the antivirus company is somehow connected. I have no proof, but the coincidence that they have the only solution to solve the problem, and the fact that all the articles seem to have the same wording - albeit translated into different languages and found via a multitude of websites.

Has anybody heard of this adware / virus ?

Not paying attention to the proposed removal tools, you can read about the general cleansing methods to use here:
https://adware.guru/how-remove-mediaonline-me/  on how to remove this adware (and notifications)  from your OS and browser.

Do not do this yourself, but wait for a qualified remover here to instruct you through the routine,
