HELP: removing SAFE FINDER malware.

Hello,

  Does anyone know how to get rid of the SAFE FINDER malware?  I went looking for it in my applications file first but have had no luck finding it.  Next I tried running the FREE AvastIt version, but that doesn't seem to find it either?  It has infected both Safari and Firefox and I'm unable to get rid of it.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi bullgator5, this sounds like a browser hijacker. Could you please try resetting your browsers to default settings to see if that solves the issue?

For Safari, please go to Safari's "Preferences" and in the menu "General", ensure your Homepage settings have not been changed. Then, in the menu "Search", make sure that you have a trusted search engine selected. Finally, in the menu "Extensions", remove all extensions.

After that please restart your web browser and check if the problem persists.
