AvastUI.exe is trying to access the disk directly
« on: April 30, 2015, 05:45:55 AM »
Hello

Today my firewall told me that "AvastUI.exe" was trying to access the disk directly, target : \??\PhysicalDrive0.
This is the first time it happens, and avast software is usually trusted by my firewall, I never get any prompt about it.

So I wanted to know if AvastUI was supposed to access the disk "directly" or is this suspicious behaviour?

It happened randomly when I was working on my computer (not at boot time).

Thank you in advance

Same here.
Comodo HIPS module says "AvastUI.exe is trying to access the disk directly".
By clicking on "Show Activities", it looks like AvastUI.exe is attempting to access firefox_pass.dll
