Should i turn off windows defender before installing avast?

I just reinstall my windows 10 today and i am planning to use avast again as my AV, before i installing avast should i turn off windows defender?

Also is it possible for them both to work together?

When you install avast (or any other antivirus) windows defender is autodisabled
