Netcraft toolbar protect against exploit

Netcraft toolbar is a nice security add-on for FF or Flock browsers.

Fully agree with you, and normally that has always been my policy as well off course, alsways update browsers automatically, and even doing a bit extra there. But you cannot go without in-browser security to-day. There is always the new vulnerability around the corner, there is always the open bugs, that have not already been patched, there is always Mr. Metasploit H.D. Moore fuzzing and  looking for new ones, and if a Netcraft bar is alerting me to someone trying to trick me with a cross siting script etc., allthough this is only on a test site, and with NoScript lowered for the occasion to make the test possible, I am glad they made such a good product, and I am gonnan help them, and report phishing sites and malware scripts and all. That is all there is to it.

Netcraft Toolbar  shows a Site Report, Risk Rating and many other useful features. It is a really useful software, especially if your working with   on-line investments  and similar, you should consider installing it.

It is true it is considered a good toolbar, and there are not a lot of toolbars I would allow onto my browser. It also warns. Good in-browser security is valuable like TrustWatch by GeoTrust, McAfeeSiteAdvisor, NoScript, AdBlock Plus, Adblock Filterset.G. updater, Nuke Anything, SpoofStick, DrWeb anti-virus link checker, Distrust. With above mentioned add-ons or plug-ins in the latest updated and fully patched Firefox or Flock browser one is more aptly protected.

I have uninstalled the Netcraft Toolbar extension in firefox, it acts in the same way as SiteAdvisor in that when I open my browser it tries to establish an internet connection (not just check for one), I absolutely hate programs that automatically connect to the internet but don't offer an option to disable auto connection. What is it going to check on a blank page or an off-line page, squat.

It also slows my dial-up browsing, so as good as it might be it is gone.
