Getting Omni working with Tor Browser?
« on: August 18, 2019, 08:29:30 PM »
What do I need to do to make Tor Browser https://www.torproject.org/ work with Omni?

Nevermind... It's the Webshield.

Hello HeffeD, I've tested Tor browser, and it works for me (Also no blocking due to web shield). If you want, provide us with details, and we can take a look (webpage, detection dialog? etc.). Thank you

Hi Zbynek6, thanks for the reply. I really appreciate it!

For me, the Web Shield doesn't even allow Tor to set up a circuit. The browser never even opens because of this. I've configured it to use a Bridge Relay, and this allows it to connect.

Edit: Well this is interesting. I reinstalled Tor Browser to get you the exact error message, and it works now... Before reporting, I attempted this dozens of times over the course of a few days to make sure the problem was consistent. (To see if it may be Tor node dependent) It failed every time unless I disabled the Web shield. Now I can't get the Web shield to block it...

Thanks!

Hi HeffeD, I'm not able to reproduce the issue. Could you provide us with a support package? Please also attach screenshots, and steps how to reproduce the issue. I will report it directly to developers. Thanks

Could the re-install have been a newer version or, possible fixed a problem with the prior installation?

No, it was the same version.
