UPDATES????

I know earlier yesterday meaning 1-13-04 the virus definitions were updated to 312-6 now the main page at avast is showing 312-8 but when you click on the link it shows 312-6 updated files nothing under 312-7 or 312-8. I was just wondering what was going on? Any and all help would be apprceiated.

There was another update which did not bring any new virus detection - it was because of the false alarm we have introduced in the 0312-6 update. This false alarm has been already discussed on this forum....

So what was 312-7 and 312-8? Can you  please explain each and tell me or point me to the link for the false alarm I've been gone for over a week and am trying to catch up. Thanks again.

There is nothing mysterious about the updates. The latest update is 0312-8, it contains all the viruses mentioned in the web list - the only difference is that this false alarm has been removed.
