Cannot reset automatic maintenance to OFF
« on: September 06, 2019, 01:08:26 PM »
I set Automatic maintenance to ON.

When I try to reset Automatic Maintenance to OFF this window appears and nothing is executed ...
Maybe I have to wait hours ... I don't think so.

PS. See tuneupcfg.ini attached!

Can I simply change at section [AutoMaintenance] enable=1 -> enable=0?
I tried myself to do this change ... Same result.
I believe that many others options are to be changed.

Hi,

this is very unfortunate bug and we apologize for it.

As a temporary solution you could change the settings directly in the tuneupcfg.ini file as you wrote: [AutoMaintenance] enable=1 -> enable=0 however you also need to restart the Avast Cleanup Premium service to take it into effect.
The recommended way is to stop the service, change the settings and then start the service again.

Also we would appreciate if you could send us logs so we can investigate further what happened on your computer.
You can simply send them by executing our log collector utility from this path C:\Program Files (x86)\AVAST Software\Avast Cleanup\tulogcollector.exe.
Just please add your email address there so we can join the logs with your report here.

Thank you.

Thanks Stellarman!
You are great. I forgot to stop service before changing INI file.

I sended collected log files. I used tulogcollector.exe and added my email address.
For me the problem is solved. I don't want automatic maintenance.
Maybe you will inform me if there is any problem.
I am interested if switching ON/OFF is active in interface.

Thanks again!

PS.
To be sure, I made a reinstall for Avast Cleanup Premium.
License was reused.

Hi,

this is very unfortunate bug and we apologize for it.

Thank you.

Hi,

well we already have a fix however it is part of a bigger release which will come out probably early November.

Meanwhile if you want to try out the configuration edit as was suggested by Adrian168 you can find the config file here:
c:\ProgramData\AVAST Software\Tuneup\tuneupcfg.ini
The rest was already described in my previous post.

Thank you.
