Multiple Subscriptions running concurrently??
« on: September 10, 2019, 05:09:30 PM »
I just checked my father-in-laws avast, and he seems to have 3 subscriptions running concurrently.

Avast Premium Security - Active
Renewal 9/2/2021   724 days remaining

Avast Cleanup - Active
Renewal 2/18/2020   162 days remaining

Other subscription2

Avast Premium Security
Renewal 3.11.2020   185 days remaining

Avast Premium Security
Renewal 1.5.2020   119 days remaining

I don't know why Avast would keep asking him to buy or renew subscriptions while he already has one. Since it is security related, he usually accepts (85 years old) and pays.

My Questions-
Are these 3 Premium Security running concurrently ? Or are the two not being used holding their validity period?
I asked him about refunding the top active one. He doesn't want to deal with it for a $50 refund (I would).
Anything I should do to clean up this 3 Premium subscription mess so that they don't ask him to renew and pay more for each one? I am afraid as each one expires Avast may start asking him for more money.
I come over here once a year, so it's not something I can monitor continuously.
Thanks,

This has not improved.
I just discovered my 89yr old father had 13 various Avast subscriptions (VPN, Driver Update etc) for things he didn't use, costing him £650 in the last 1.5yrs!
The subs page shows how many install there were, and most were unused.
Two purchases were very recent, so have requested refunds - but the others 'don't meet the refund policy'.

I am appalled by this - It feels like a scam.
I am also concerned that Support are not able to see this is a serious issue on their side and refund appropriately.
