Why does avast report wps danger?
« on: September 27, 2019, 12:12:45 PM »

I downloaded the wps from the official website. https://www.wps.com/
Wps is  a very common office software and I have used other versions before.
Why the new version from official website is dangerous reported by avast?
Avast shows IDP.ALEXA.51,  Can Avast give more details?

Man, I was hoping this was WPS WiFi - always a good time!

Avast! should be fairly quick to clear up common apps being detected. I'll MD Milos and see if he can swing by.

I want to report a false positive (select file or website)
https://www.avast.com/false-positive-file-form.php

but the Wps installation package compressed file  over 50m.

What other methods can I give feedback?

Morning Chenstar,

Sorry that I lost you in the thread. Avast! can also be reached via email: virus@avast.com

However, please be aware that I had previously DM'd Milos regarding this thread. Milos belongs to the Avast! team who deals with this kind of information, and/or will pass it along to the appropriate  people.

Hello,
post the screenshot with detection to see which file is detected, please.
Report i through https://www.avast.com/false-positive-file-form.php if the file is too big you can put a link to download or upload it to our ftp (https://support.avast.com/article/FTP-file-upload) and let us know (through the mentioned form) the uploaded filename.
