Avast Premium Security - Updates don't stop

I try to run "ashUdp.exe vps" through a batch file.
Once it is started, it will run in the background until I reboot the system.
How can I avoid this problem?

May I ask why you aren't doing the updates via the UI or a right click of the Avast system tray icon?

I need to trigger an update action from another program.
The Free and Internet Security version work fine, only Premium Security has problems.
