Patch management problems
« on: October 04, 2019, 11:57:41 AM »
Hi everyone,

I have problems with patch management. Patches working good after fresh install until first restart, then when I try to scan/install from console nothing happens and log with information about license is generated in ProgramData\Avast software\PatchTools\Logs\Patch-scanner.txt

Code: [Select]
[2019-10-04 11:08:54.924806] [0x00000aec] [0x000006c0] <info>: Program started

[2019-10-04 11:08:54.925806] [0x00000aec] [0x000006c0] <info>: No vendors configured for inclusion during scan.
[2019-10-04 11:08:54.925806] [0x00000aec] [0x000006c0] <info>: SDK logs will be generated at C:\ProgramData\AVAST Software\PatchTools\Logs\patch-scanner-SDK.log
[2019-10-04 11:08:54.925806] [0x00000aec] [0x000006c0] <info>: No verbose mode enabled for Scan results
[2019-10-04 11:08:54.925806] [0x00000aec] [0x000006c0] <debug>: Validating App configuration
[2019-10-04 11:08:54.925806] [0x00000aec] [0x000006c0] <debug>: AppConfiguration::IsValid
[2019-10-04 11:08:54.925806] [0x00000aec] [0x000006c0] <error>: invalid license key encountered.

Second problem is that the Patch Management is not installed on every PC, just missing folder with apps in ProgramFiles/Avast Software/PatchTools, full reinstall creates it and patch management starts working. Everything tested on Windows 7.

I apologize for the delay. You may need to create a case at https://www.avast.com/business-support-contact if you haven't done so already, and we may need to collect log files using the Avast Support Tool.

Hi matn__,

I have been experiencing similar problems where the patches were working fine after fresh install until a restart was prompted. Few of the patches were deployed whereas others remain stuck at deploying, then when I try to scan/install from console, nothing happens.

The log information in the files in ProgramData\Avast software\PatchTools\Logs\Patch-scanner.txt remain unchanged from the first patch.

I have also filed a Support Case with Avast, but just wondered whether you managed to solve this issue?

Thanks

What's your case number, and I'll look into it?
