Avast! Passwords in MS Edge
« on: October 15, 2019, 04:08:26 PM »
I can't seem to get MS Edge to get passwords from Avast Passwords. There isn't an icon in the corner where it is in the Avast Secure Browser or Chrome or Firefox, and I can't find a way to add Edge either from the browser's settings or from Avast's password settings. How do I connect MS Edge and Avast Passwords?

EDIT:

Googled some more. Avast! Passwords is not currently supported in Edge browsers. See link below.

Well, OK. Thanks. That explains the problem. Now, I wonder why Edge doesn't support Avast Passwords.

You need to use the Chromium based version of edge for it to work.

In a word probably 'Microsoft', they can be a real pain, not very flexible at all.  They aren't helping their own cause (or existing users) when they prevent such things.

I never really liked IE and hasn't changed with the release of Edge, I have never used Edge on my win10 system.

I thought rumour out of control that Edge was going to be abandoned in favour of a Chromium based browser.  If that were to happen it could mean much greater flexibility for users.  As Bob now effectively confirms.
