Sorry if this is a dumb question, but...
« on: October 30, 2019, 06:46:46 PM »
If I purchase a 1-year plan, does that mean it will last until December of this year or is it a full 365 days? I don't wanna accidentally purchase it close to the end of the year and then it would suddenly expire. Thank you!

Dumb questions are those that aren't asked.

Well it is also a question of which I would say has more than one answer.

Typically I believe it is a calendar year 365/366 from the date of purchase (on your first purchase) subsequent purchases through/via the User Interface should tack on the remaining licence period.  If it didn't you could request that it be added via a support ticket.

Those that are on the Automatic Renewal should find it falling in line with their existing license period.

See, clear as mud, so not a dumb question at all.  This from an Avast Free user, not having to worry about such decisions.

Thanks for giving me some insight, I just thought it was "dumb" because the question was about a thing that most users except me would know about. Sorry about that.

What DavidR said.

There are three kinds of Software:
  • Free (no cost) Avast Free is an example of that, and offers the same basic full protection as their paid versions
  • Trial (Free to install with access to all paid features, but will require payment to continue to use after a certain period of time.  Trial periods vary, some are 30 days, others are 60 days)  If you try it out and decide you don't like it you remove it before the trial period is up and owe nothing
  • Paid (License to use for full features set to expire after 365/366 days, or two or three years)  You must renew before the end of license expiry to continue using that program but with a new license
No such thing as a dumb question.   :)

You're welcome.
No need to feel sorry, it could help others who don't ask the question ;)

Hi,

The 1-year plan is valid for a full 365 days.
