This popped up on me a couple of days ago.  I told Avast to remedy it, and it said it was re-downloading the original.

Then this morning it popped up again.

DPS is part of Android 10, so I am unsure.

Has anyone else gotten this?

Hi, we need way more details - the type of your device, app and Android version, any ROM modifications? Thanks.

I have the same phone and version, no mods, got the same message. I popped over here to check before telling Avast to remedy it bc I wasn't sure what redownloading DPS would do to my phone and it seemed weird for something that's part of the Android system to get marked as malware? DPS did just update so maybe there's some wires crossed with Avast?

I also just received this notification on my pixel with Android 10, no mods (build QP1A.191005.007.A1)

Can Avast tell me if this is false positive?

Hey guys, thanks for reporting the problem. We tried to reproduce the detection, but with no luck.
Could you please share its screenshot (of the Avast dialogue window saying "Malware detected!" + details)?
We would really appreciate it, thanks!

Pixel xl, Android 10 , same thing happened to me. It happened after the DPS update. Malwarebytes didn’t pick up anything. Avast didn’t give any indication of what malware it was supposed to be. I’m pretty sure this is some weird false positive?

I just sent back the hash requested.

I have no mods on my original Pixel XL, latest Android, purchased unlocked direct from Google.

Same just now. Pixel, no mods, Android 10. Warning says, Device Personalization Services contains malware! It may harm your device." Then gives the choice of Resolve or Ignore.

This reupdated  and happened again tonight straight after update again with the same warning. Apparently other users of AVG and such are having the same issue. It identified it as Evo-gen[trj]. I am presuming it’s one of the new permissions of the app that are triggering or all of us are infected with the same malware.... and if that’s the case I’m impressed of that pixel XL only target group ahah.
