Avast not behaving after upgrade to Catalina
« on: November 12, 2019, 02:30:51 PM »
After upgrading to Catalina followed instructions to allow full disc access. There was already and avast option under the privacy tab. Ticked it - didn't work so followed instructions and added from list of applications. Seems to work fine BUT have noticed that when i shut down and restart it loses the access and I have to repeat the process. Is this the new normal? help appreciated as its making me nervous!

Now sorted tx. Takes about 3 mins after restart to work through!!!

Hello johnboy,

thank you for the post.

If I understood correctly, you do not need to set it up manually after every reboot now. The problem is that it takes the system around 3 minutes to grant the app full disk access after startup. Is that right? We had one similar report outside of the forums. Unfortunately this entire flow is managed by macOS and we can't influence this. Hopefully Apple has similar reports and will resolve it in later versions of Catalina.

I am sorry that I can't provide steps to fully resolve this.

Best regards,

Jakub
