Or, if its necessary to turn off the notifications for some reason
As your scanner explained, leaving the notifications on will give you double notifications.
If that's ok with you, just turn the notifications back on in the windows FW.  ;D

Just hoping for something I can't have right now, I guess.   :)

btw, do you know if there's a way to view the system rules?  I know they can't be edited but I would like to take a look at them (no response to my AShampoo email yet).

Has anyone had any problems installing this on computers with multiple user accounts?  I'm running into some difficulties with this.

You don't state what the problems are ?

If you install it with the Administrator account, it should be available to all users. Some programs, avast included can have problems on multi user systems when not installed using the Administrator account or there are multiple users with admin rights.
Windows 10 Home 64bit/ Acer Aspire F15/ Intel Core i5 7200U 2.5GHz, 8GB DDR4 memory, 256GB SSD, 1TB HDD/ avast! free 24.2.6105 (build 24.2.8918.824) UI 1.0.799/ Firefox, uBlock Origin, uMatrix/ MailWasher Pro/ Avast! Mobile Security

Here's the text of my email to AShampoo support:

Jens,

I've tried the AShampoo Firewall on 1 single-account computer and 2
multiple-account computers.  Although it works quite well on the single
account machine the slow boot problem exists on both multi-account boxes.
Specifically, the time between the first appearance of the desktop
background and the first appearance of any icons is greater than 5
minutes.

I've noticed the following about this:

During installation on both of the problem computers it appeared that 2
instances of the set up program ran even though I only executed it once.
That is, the configuration windows appeared twice and there were two
icons in the system tray.

Sometimes logging into a non-administrator account first avoids this
delay, but not always.

Removing the firewall from the start ups followed by a reboot does not
alleviate the problem - it must be uninstalled to avoid the delay.

On the second of the problem computers some programs (Bazooka
AntiSpyware, an HP Program Update utility, and Spybot S&D) were able to
obtain internet connections without the firewall intervening.  There were
no rules established for these programs - they simply connected to their
update servers.  I did not test this on the first of the problem
computers.

I recommended AShampoo to another user who experienced a similar boot
problem but I have no specific details on that.

At this point I've gone back to Zone Alarm on the 2 multi-account
computers and there are no longer any delays.  I hope this helps track
down the problem.

I was very excited about this firewall but it all came crashing down.  IE kept freezing for no reason after installing this firewall.  After I was able to get it to Shields Up, it failed the tests.  I was truly disappointed.  I guess it was to good to be true.

Take it easy... it's on development...
Meanwhile, test Comodo Firewall (the beta version or some days from now, the last stable)  8)

It seems as if the installation goes bad sometimes.  I have two good installs and two that didn't work at all.  On the bad ones programs are able to connect out without any firewall rules so I'm guessing there is no real protection under these circumstances.  If correct this could explain the failed leak tests for some users.

I've been in touch with AShampoo support again and asked that they either provide some information or, better, post some comments in this thread.

btw, I did find out that AShampoo recommends leaving the Windows Firewall active while using the AShampoo Firewall.

I remain optimistic about this program, but time and experience will be the best judge.
