Avast Internet Security virus scan stuck at 9%

Avast Internet Security virus scan stuck at 9% - I'm running a full scan.  It keeps hanging at 9%.  I have "repaired" the program twice - the first time it repaired and I rebooted.  Started the full scan again and it hung at 9%.  I repaired again, at which time it updated.  I started scan again, and it again got stuck at 9%.  the outer wheel is stil "circuling" but it's been hours and it has not advanced from 9%.  Thoughts?

Were you able to update to the latest virus definitions?

You might also want to try a uninstall and install Avast Premium Security.
