DEACTIVATING AVAST LICENSES ON AN INACCESSIBLE COMPUTER.
« on: December 12, 2019, 05:52:59 AM »
I have several Avast products that are each licensed for 3 computers. One of the computers has become inaccessible due to graphics issues. How do I deactivate the licenses that are associated with that computer? I can log into my account on my computer, but I can't find any way to deactivate any of the licenses except for the computer I use to sign into my account with.

Hi,

Since the one device is offline, you can activate the license on a new device.

Since the other licenses are all being used  will this show as a 4th license?

You should be able to assign licenses from your my.avast.com.  So you should be able to remove the association with the system with the graphics issues.
Windows 10 Home 64bit/ Acer Aspire F15/ Intel Core i5 7200U 2.5GHz, 8GB DDR4 memory, 256GB SSD, 1TB HDD/ avast! free 24.2.6105 (build 24.2.8918.824) UI 1.0.799/ Firefox, uBlock Origin, uMatrix/ MailWasher Pro/ Avast! Mobile Security

Unfortunately, I am unable to do that. I can log in and see that I have 3 licenses, but it doesn't list the individual  devices that the licenses are associated with.

Unfortunately, as an Avast Free user, I don't have a licenses section in my.avast.com, but from memory of what I had seen in the forums that function used to be available.

However, as r@vast mentions if that system isn't likely to come back on line, you should be able to activate the license on a new device.

Is there a way that avast can do that for me since I can't find anything where I can delete specific licenses on specific computers?

You're welcome.

That  was of no help. All I got were instructions on how to install and activate the service on a new computer which I already know how to do. When that was done and the scan was run, when it came to the part  to "fix" the issues it found payment was requested.
