Can not register Avast Free

I'm getting caught into a loop I can not get out off. I'm being informed my license for Avast FREE has expired. I got this message a week ago. So I downloaded the latest version 19.8.2393 and installed it.

And registered it. Or at least I thought I did. As a few days later I got the message "Your Avast Free Antivirus license is no longer valid".

I searched the web and foound this article that is supposed to resolve this issue https://support.avast.com/en-ca/article/Activate-Free-Antivirus

I followed it exactly as outlined.

And it did not resolve the issue. The issue continued.

Searched some more and found this about using the universal code  https://www.avast.com/en-ca/registration-free-antivirus

Used the code and it did not resolve the issue.

This is very frustrating. And now I'm getting phone calls from family and friends to who I recommended the free version of AVAST.

How do I resolve this issue?

I think that the Universal Code is related to old versions of avast that otherwise couldn't register, if memory serves me well.
Also have you rebooted since trying to enter this universal license ?

Normally the user interface would change to facility the Activation of the free version license. 
I don't see it in your first image.

What happens if you right click on the Avast tray icon and click 'Registration information' it may have a route there to Activate there.  I have a long time for mine to go yet so I can't show exactly what you would see.  There should be a down arrow to the rigt of the registration information, click that and see what it reveals.

I did try to register via theAvast tray --> "Register Information" and I get the message below...



I tried several times after rebooting. I even shutdown the firewall on my router as well. Still no go. I've been using AVAST free for quite a few years and nothing like this before.

Hi,
 the message you received normally indicates that your Avast product is not able to communicate with our servers.
Could you first perform an uninstallation and reinstallation.
Do the following to uninstall AV: https://support.avast.com/en-ww/article/94/

Activate: https://support.avast.com/en-ww/article/Activate-Free-Antivirus

Ok... I did exactly as article in the links.

Downloaded "avastclear.exe" and ran it. The rebooted into SafeMode and ran the app and selected to uninstall Avast 64bit version (running Windows 10 Home 64 bit)

Rebooted and downloaded AvastFree from the link. I then registered via the Tray Icon.

It did NOT resolve my issue. I am having the same problem.

I tried the Universal serial  W11332244H9900A0420-8MRTR8W5 for Avast Free and it is not accepted.

What do I do NOW?

That serial # wasn't meant for general registration.
Did you follow the directions outlined?
Next step should have been Select Buy Now ,,,
etc.

Yes I did. I tried those steps today. I also did this a few weeks ago when I first had this issue.

I gave it some time and decided to recheck. Avast is still reporting that it is no longer valid and requires reactivation.
Is there a resolution to this issue?

You'll need to wait for a reply from Avast. That probably will not happen till Mon.

Working away in one of my 3D apps (Daz3D Studio) and up pops this message. How annoying. I've not gotten these popups during my registering issues.



I went through the processes before and those recommended in this thread. But to no avail.

Also tried the two universal keys for Avast as outlined here :

Also turned off firewall on router and firewall on Windows 10. Did not resolve the issue

IF it's FREE then why would it require registering?

Any assistance would be appreciated. However if none is available I'm going to remove Avast from my computer.
I've wasted enough time on this.

Registration has always been required. The universal keys are not for the current version.
