Apple recalls 1.8 million....

the 15 inch macbook pros do have a recall. some batteries sent out were not what they said they were (apple said 5.5 hours of battery life and they died in about two) so they are replacing them with higher capacity batteries

Sony share value is coming down. The company (sony) said in a statement yesterday that it believes the recalls will cost it up to £136 Million (almost $250 million). The announcement led to a fall in Sony's share price. Personally I think they have under estimated the cost, not to mention the bad rep.

They've looked for trouble last year... they're paid for a bad companion policy

I was wondering the same thing with all these duff Sony batteries in other laptops yet there has been nothing in the news about the Sony laptop range suffering this battery issue/recall.

Perhaps they pass the seconds on to other suppliers just kidding.

I contacted Sony, and they said that there have not been any reported incidents yet.
