Nothing happens when clicking the Avast icon

Hi,

it seems as my Avsts program (paied version) doesn't work anymore. When clicking the Avast icon, nothing happens and when I run a newly compiled program that Avsat normally checks for viruses, it doesn't check it. However, Avast Antivirus in in the background task list in Task Manager.
Avast worked normally yesterday.

Now Avast premium Security works as normal again. I did nothing except re-starting the computer a few times, and when I did that it didn't help.
Strange! Could it be an automatic update that Avast made that had a bug which has been fixed? Such a thing happened with Excel half a year ago. A bug made it almost impossible to use Excel for half a day, but then it just started to work  normally again.

Sometimes it takes more than one re-start for all new things to take effect.
