If you cheek the directions, you'll see that Programs and features isn't sufficient,
Also, AVG is owned by Avast and offers the same protection and also supports Windows 7.

No i can't, I get the same blue screen even if i try to boot in safe mode.
and to make it even worse i don't have a restore point set. If there's a way i can reset without a windows disk then i would love to know it.

Here's some additional information.
"STOP 0x0000007B errors are caused by device driver issues (especially those related to hard drive and other storage controllers),
viruses, data corruption, and sometimes even hardware failures.
The STOP 0x0000007B error will always appear on a STOP message, more commonly called a Blue Screen of Death (BSOD)
Here are the recommendations from Microsoft, https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/2673509/you-receive-error-stop-error-code-0x0000007b-inaccessible-boot-device

What was the original problem that made you decide to change from AVG to Avast?
I didn't like it that's all, there isnt any specific reason for that.

You used AVG for how long and, what did you use prior to AVG?
Since you can't get to your system, you may need to get help here, https://forum.avast.com/index.php?board=4.0
Start your own topic and explain your problem.
