Forum- Secure Connection Failures
« on: February 01, 2020, 11:26:14 AM »
I have been experiencing occasional "Secure Connection Failure" occurances over the past few days when moving around the forum from page to page. Before last week I had no problems. I am using FF browser (with Avast Online Security) on Win10 1909. Error is not fatal, as can eventually get the page up. Just says report error to the website administrator.
Anyone else seeing this problem?

Likely due to cache issues when placing bans, it locks up the forum for quite some time which usually end up with a 504 error, I'm sometimes locked out for minutes ::)

The forum requires a major upgrade and has done for years.

I have had no further problems whilst reading Forum items today. Maybe it was just the weight of traffic last week.

I have just been banning multiple spammers with multiple spam posts/topics, so that slows the forums to a crawl with multiple 504 timeouts.

It is just about stabilising.

Would be nice if the forum was such that it can handle the day to day banning and general use at the same time.
Still very frustrating just posting a simple reply

We have been asking for that for some considerable time, as and when there is a fix (possibly more grunt server side I don't know), it doesn't seem to last very long on what is a very active forum.

In light of what happened, the forum has been more busy than usual.

I spoke too soon. Had loads of failures in past hour.
Maybe due to lunch hour browsing in Europe.  >:(

Most likely due to banning spammers.
I wasn't able to reach the forum for a few minutes getting the 504 error.
