Avast Charge $65 Randomly After 2 Years of Not Having
« on: February 03, 2020, 11:00:42 PM »
Today 2/3/2020, I got charged in my bank $65 as the statement said "CHECKCARD 02/03 DRI*AVAST SOFTWARE 8557453255 MN".

I did become Avast Free Trial member in "December 19, 2017", and now I got charged after more than 2 YEARS? Avast also did not send an email to inform me about the charge (that makes it hard to claim the refund without Order Id). I was able to find out because of the overdraft today. I just sent the ticket but have not received any confirmations to my gmail, and when I log in into Avast with my gmail, Avast said that I do not have any subscription.

Sorry for this post but this is truly disappointed. I understand it's for my protection but this crazily violates my information. In the free trial, I did not even have my current debit card number on. I don't really know how I get charged like this, time is already hard for me.

Please anyone know is this a scam or it's just another flaw of the subscription system.

If you haven't got an order ID try putting in 00000000 as the order Id that should at least allow you to input the information to request a refund.

Have you changed emails since then or could it be that you made a typo on your email address ?
This should be the only reason why you shouldn't get a notification of a pending debit.

Yes, I thought the same thing. I submit another ticket with the same description in this post and double check the email. I still have not received the confirmation. Do they just send an email right away after the submission?

Thank you for helping!

You're welcome.

I don't know if they send an email right away (I have never used this process) even if that is an auto responder email with basic details and a link back to your support ticket ID, etc.

What I do know is sending multiple support tickets for the same issue can actually slow the process down as they are handled in a First In First Out (FIFO) order.

The email address I referred to is the one you used initially for the Free Trial of the paid product, because if that was wrong or no longer used you wouldn't get the email notification of a pending payment.

I have tried to attract attention to this topic.

Be patient, a refund can take up to 7 business days. Note, (as Dave mentioned) don't submit multiple tickets (FIFO).
