They don't mention anything of what has been asked here and there's no mention of what Bob is saying.
Hi, I can confirm that the Avast statement provided by Bob is an official one - I received it as well.
Can you both tell your friends at Avast to address their users concerns in a new post here, or a blog post or anything other than through non affiliated forum users then? It would be wonderful.
We already did.

I've requested exactly that.

This doesn't look promising. 3 days and no answers to relatively simple questions...

I think his questions are valid as well.

Bob, do you work for Avast? Is there a press release or official statement where Avast talks about this?

3. are they in deep sllumber even now,

When are the Avast officials going to address us all? I am back to using Avast, considering bob's statement of there being no privacy on the internet.

    • How long was the data sharing dialog present during install (because I remember seeing it ages ago, but don't remember exactly)
    • How was data shared to 3rd parties, on request as aggregated results in graphs or raw data that 3rd parties could poke on their own?
    • People are saying you were selling their "browsing history". Web browser extensions were collecting basically entire chain of web sites and effectively browsing history. How was this then presented to Jumpshot clients? The same way it was collected and grouped under single user with anonymization filter ran over it (effectively having all browsing history linked, but not under easily identifiable username) or entirely de-grouped without a common data point like "user X"?
    • Was data only collected via web browser extensions or also Web Shield component?
    • Was "CommunityIQ" (cloud malware protection) data ever or at any point shared with Jumpshot? Asking because I did have this enabled.

Hi, I aplogize for delay, here are the answers:

    1. The product had a setting for data sharing for third party analytics. During installation of the antivirus, there was also a dialogue box that explained the data sharing. The privacy policy also explained the data sharing.

    2. Jumpshot had a graphical product and a data feed product.

    3. Data was collected primarily via web browser extensions which were disabled in December 2019. Data for mobile devices was shared via Web Shield.

    4. Community IQ and data sharing with third parties were unrelated to each other.

Thanks for the answers. By "data feed" do you mean like raw anonymized data or something else?[/list]
