Device has been reinstalled

What does it mean - Device has been reinstalled? Will every update on Windows generate this message?

This has been an issue since the console update a little over a month ago. Version 7.22 and the subsequent updates have been horrible and have cost our staff countless hours just trying to fix things that make absolutely no sense.

Every day we see at least 40 devices get flagged for being "Reinstalled". We mark them as dismissed, and they just come back a few hours later. It's ridiculous.

We're seeing the same behaviour. We also see "reinstalled" in the portal, yet the device is manually uninstalled. Nothing makes any sense!

It appears to be related to a known bug issue. If you would like to be added to the bug ticket (the more people that report this issue after we confirm your issue is related to this bug ticket, the higher priority our development/production team will fix this issue), please create a new technical support case at and comment what the issue is, and that it could be related to bug ticket# CBC-10294. Other helpful information to include for effected devices are:
  • Operating system(s)
  • Agent version(s)
  • Program version(s)
  • Virus definition version(s)
