Hi,
I'm running Avast Free Antivirus on a Windows 7 desktop system that is disconnected from the internet. I update the virus definitions manually by downloading the definition files via the Linux Lubuntu system which dual boots on the same computer.

In May this year, my current registration expires.  Is there a way I can update the registration without reconnecting the Windows 7 system to the internet i.e., for example, by accessing my account via the Lubuntu system?

Thanks.

Hi,

The Avast client needs to be connected to the Internet to register it.

Hi r@vast,

Thanks for your clear and succinct answer to my query.

I will temporarily re-enable the internet on my Windows 7 system when registration is due.  Will my Avast program, even when the Windows 7 internet connection is disabled, prompt me when the re-registration time is approaching or has become due?

Thanks.

Hi,

You should receive an email informing you of the expiration as well as see the notification in the application.
