Short:
Avast is causing my wifi connection to drop. Any idea of the specific cause or how to fix it?
Long:
Over the last few months, I've been having a problem with my mac staying connected to my router. I'd be able establish a connection to my wifi, however, that connection would drop after a few seconds. This was weird because I was still able to connect to it on my phone and literally any other device. Living in an apartment complex with a lot of other routers, I suspected interference. As such, I scaned the traffic and messed with channels as well as putting my mac next to the router. The problem however continued to persist. Today, I factory reset a desktop mac which was connecting to the wifi before just fine (but without avast as the anti virus). Interestingly once I download avast, the wifi stopped working on that mac as well. I proceeded to uninstall avast on both macs and the wifi has been working amazing ever since. Any idea on why avast is causing this?
