Avast, please STOP making active by default this "feature"
« on: February 29, 2020, 08:10:06 PM »
"Add a signature to end of sent emails" is active by default and I did not knew this checkbox even existed before I raged after I saw a little message saying "Virus-free. www.avast.com" in a very important email.
Thanks Avast, you ruined my chance of not looking like an idiot that uses an antivirus though I really know I don't need one.

I suggest slowing down invading people's lives without even their consent, thus letting people choose if they want it or not.

This feature has as far as I'm aware has been (or meant to be) off by default for some time.

I certainly haven't seen it be enabled on my systems.  I had disabled this some considerable time ago and it has never been re-enabled.

That feature has actually been removed in this version of Avast.

I haven't allowed the program update to 20.1 as yet and I can only assume that the OP hasn't got avast version 20.1 either.

This may explain a bit more:

Which would make it even stranger if the OP has the latest avast 20.1 version.

But so far Cookie4 hasn't stated what avast version he is using.

Strange as I have just manually installer avast 20.1 (see attached signature below posts) over my installation of 19.8 and my previous settings have been retained, e.g. no signature added to emails.

EDIT:
Seeing your build number, it doesn't correspond to that of avast version 21.0.2397 the 19.8 corresponds to avast version 19.8 did you happen to copy my old build number, not that of your about avast details (see attached inage2) ?
