Violation of the law by Avast!
« on: March 11, 2020, 06:35:52 PM »
Violation of the auction by Avast! I Have been a user of avast premium for several years and after updating the program Avast arbitrarily without my knowledge consent and permission installed a temporary profile and updated and set my browser by default, blocking my access to my profile and lawfully depriving me of the right to use my documents and products installed on my computer!!!! This is outrageous!!!This claim is a pre-trial notification! I demand that you contact me as soon as possible+ 7 917 554 77 88, or Rodionov.Sergey.Vl@gmail.com and immediately return me the right to use my profile and all my alerts, since your actions are considered as arbitrariness and piracy, which is a violation of the law and restriction of my rights and freedoms, depriving me of the right to use my profile and documents as well as profile settings.I also demand that you return my money paid for installing your software for the entire period of my use in the shortest possible time. This claim is a pre-trial notification and if there is no response to it from AVAST, I will be forced to go to court. Rodionov Segey + 7 917 554 77 88, or Rodionov.Sergey.Vl@gmail.com

Placing your email address and telephone number on a public forum isn't wise, unless of course you like spam and scam telephone calls.  Which given your outraged post you wouldn't.

Making threats is hardly going to improve things and could well be costly, good luck with your lawyer.

There is nothing to stop you requesting a refund via the support ticket system (as suggested) and wouldn't require the cost of a lawyer.

Yes! in my experience the support ticket system works really good, so do not hesitate in request it if it is necessary.

Asking for a refund is not the solution here. Is like asking a thief to return the stolen goods will solve the act itself.

While it might be that you honestly feel thief style actions took place in some way, it probably doesn't help much to call the big boy on the block a thief.  Especially right out here in the big boy's yard.

Now, the "solve the act itself" has more promise, but I just did a search of "temporary profile" for any other .thread on this site and found only this thread.

Is what Avast is being accused of here really possible? Can Avast place some sort of "temporary profile" into an OS?

I think that question is important, because if it is not something anyone here at Avast has heard before, we should then ask if some sort of hacker has figured out some trick using Avast's code to do something bad.

It is all well and dandy for the OP to be sent off to another location to ask for some money back, but are the rest of us at some sort of risk?  Is there something new here we need to worry about?

If the search tool shows no other topic like this, it might be some very new threat to Avast and its customers.
