Virus in Lenovo folder
« on: March 17, 2020, 01:21:52 PM »
Hello!Someone who uses Lenovo notebook might know that there is some program directly from Lenovo, which optimalises system, apps, battery and everything around that.

Today while using the notebook, an Avast popup showed up that an threat named IDP.Generic has inficated a file named Maintenance.ps1, which was located in C:/ProgramData/Lenovo/ImController/Plugins/LenovoBatteryGaugePackage/data. I put it in the Avast Virus Folder (I use Czech Avast, so I don't know the name of that function in English, sorry.) After few minutes the popup showed up again, but the file name/location was in caps.

Also, an important fact, I haven't downloaded anything in past 1 or 2 weeks. (I think so.. Or the only thing I downloaded were images from Google Images)

Does that mean the notebook needs that file, so it created a copy, which got inficated again, or is it false alert? How can I get virus into Lenovo folder?

Please reply fast, I'm scared.  :/

Thanks for your help! <3
