HI!
I have a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark over the avast icon without any apparent reason. I have already looked for this issue in the forum but it seems that this icon usually appears with other issues, but I have checked everything and I can't find the reason for this warning sign.
I use Avast Free Antivirus 20.1.2397 (build 20.1.5069.562) (updated yesterday)
Windows 10
When I hover over the icon it shows the normal green message: You are protected.
In Avast User interface it also says: you are protected.
Shields are all on.
Updates are set to automatic and virus definitions and application where updated yesterday.
I have repaired avast via apps and features>uninstall>repair and restarted several times.
I am also running a scan just in case.
In notifications there are no warnings or alerts.
So I don't know what else to do apart from uninstalling-reinstalling (which I would prefer not to do since I am working right now)
Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

First have your booted your system ?
Not just a fast start as that doesn't do a system shutdown followed by a reboot.

Have you restarted your system (shutdown followed by a restart) since the recent update may require a system reboot to be fully applied.

I have become accustomed to seeing the yellow triangle with exclamation mark when starting a system which has not been used for a few days and the virus definitions are out of date.  After a short time, say 15 seconds, the yellow triangle disappears.  Of course the system needs to be connected to the internet.

Yes, I did a proper shutdown after the update from yesterday and another one (fully shutdown and restart) after the repair.  Apart from other restarts during the process

Thanks for your reply!
Yes, I did. Two shutdowns and some restarts, didn't change anything.

In my case virus definitions are uptodate, I use the computer daily and I am connected to the internet, but I will wait just in case!

What other security programs are running in the background on your system?

Open the user interface and see if there are any notifications.

What you described usually indicates that there are some notifications for you to look at.
