Avast locked my webcam
« on: March 23, 2020, 11:08:33 PM »
A little bit of time ago i remember that avast gave me a notification about possible people spying trought my cam, that was just a reminder that people could do that. Avast asked me to lock the cam and i clicked yes. After some time i had to uninstall avast but since then my cam is not recognized anymor eby it's mother app (Logitech webcam software). The pc recognizes the device but any chance of actually using the cam results in failure. tried the software, OBS and nothing. Can someone please tell me how to fix this?

Hi,

If you currently do not have Avast installed then you could try the following.
Uninstall your Logitech Cam software and during the uninstallation process when you are presented with
the components you wish to uninstall, select only the driver.
Restart your device.

Hi,

Please see if the camera is listed in device manager.
Please open Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Device Manager
Please ensure that it is "Enabled" and "Scan for hardware changes"

Please update the driver from there and "Restart" your PC.

If it is still not working then please uninstall it via Device Manager,
Restart your PC and start from scratch.

Hi,

Can you please provide us with a screenshot of your Device manager settings (for the webcam).
Could you clarify which Antivirus you currently have installed?
What error messages did you receive after you tried the steps above?
