Couldn't find any recent posts on WMI issues, so... A problem I was having on an older (2009) HP desktop running Windows 10: consistently, in Task Manager I'd see WMI Provider Host using 5-8% of the CPU, and this seemed to be causing operational delays in other apps.  Tried a lot of different troubleshooting steps, none of which solved it.  Finally decided to try closing a few apps that ran in the background (among the "hidden icons" on the taskbar) to see what happened; end result was that I identified the problem source: Avast Driver Updater.  I've now disabled it, and the WMI/CPU-hog issue has not returned.

Anyone else find this?
