Avast Premier Blocked OpenVPN Connection
« on: February 10, 2019, 10:17:05 AM »
Hello,
It's my first post and my first day on Avast Community..
I have Avast Premier installed on Windows 10 x64 Pro 1803 build
and couple minutes ago I tried to make a VPN Connection using OpenVPN GUI but VPN app can not connect me to my network..
After did some Googling, I found some solutions and one of them told me to disable Avast antivirus/firewall..
Then I did as was told and I finally connected to my VPN network..
My question is, how can I configure my Avast Premier to keep connected to my VPN without disable Avast Premier?
Thank you and sorry for my English :)

Is your firewall network profile in puplic or private mode ?

https://support.avast.com/en-eu/article/Antivirus-Firewall-Application-Rules

================================================
NOTE:The Network profiles control the settings which determine how strictly Firewall protects your PC.

Private: a lower level of security suitable for when your PC is connected to a trusted network such as your home or work network. This profile enables better connectivity, and permits all communication within the network.

Public: a higher level of security suitable for when your PC is connected to a public network such as in a cafe or airport. Because public networks present greater security risks, no incoming communication is permitted when this profile is set.

at the moment the only way for me to get nord vpm to load without a bsod is to totally remove avast. the issue has occured since latest avast update to 19.2.2364 https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=225112.0
previous 19.12360 worked perfectly but no one so far is willing to post a link to load it offline.

thanks for the link.
tried and failed.
clean uninstall in safe mode. disconnected internet. loaded older version from your link. turned off auto update. everything fine up until then. loaded my licence key and it asked for a reboot. on completion it has loaded latest version again.
thanks for trying though. ill now wait for devs.

Is there a working solution for a question from TS? I have the same problem: I have to disable the firewall before using OpenVpn...

My product: Avast Premier 20.1.2397 (build 20.1.5069.559)

It looks like after the last update (01.04.2020) openVpn has started working...
