20.2.2401 updated today
« on: April 01, 2020, 02:54:02 PM »
I had a notification to there was a version update, when I opened Avast gui.

Updated to Version 20.2.2401  Build 20.2.5130.561.
After updated asked for a reboot.
When I rebooted and it got to where I put my pin in nothing showed up. Waited for about 10 minutes, still nowhere to put in pin.

Turned computer of by start/shutdown button. ( have this set to do a normal shut down)
Rebooted computer all seems fine.

Is this a stable version release? I don't see anything about it in where they have links to latest version here in the forum (only Beta )
Avast Premium version 20.10.2442  Build 20.10.5824.618
Avast Secure browser version 86.1.6938.199
Chrome browser version 87.0.4280.88
Microsoft windows 10 pro 64 bit Version 20H2  OS Build 19042.685

I also have problems with the new update.

I tried twice to restart the laptop after the upgrade.

And after the new boot of my laptop says that firewall is off and when I click the green button to turn on the firewall a new pop up window says: Firewall not available !!!

Any help ?

Hi,

It happened the same thing with me. I solved doing a clean installation of Avast. You should use the Avast clear tool to unistall the Avast (make sure you use this tool on secure boot) and restart. After that you install Avast again and it should be running soothly ;)

I hope this helps you.

Kind Regards,
Filipe

You don't say what your Program Update settings are, so it would be hard to say.

I haven't had any notifications or program update, but then again I have Program Updates set to Manual.
I'm just doing a manual Program Update to see.  That downloads and installs 20.2.2401, just about to reboot to complete.

For those waiting for this to be put up on the forums, there could be some delay, given Avast are effectively locked down and connecting remotely.

Not sure what errors you speak of, but none here (so far) after a manual program update. If this is the firewall, none included on Avast Free.

A point of note watch out for the initial Avast Window about the update, it pre-checks the Avast Secure Browser options, which I didn't want.
