Unwanted Standard Desktop v Bank Mode buttons
« on: April 06, 2020, 11:56:47 AM »
Why does ASB Bank Mode now have two giant buttons at the bottom of the active browser screen area to choose "Bank Mode" or "Standard Desktop". This reduces the available screen area for websites and can obstruct form filling.
Bank Mode was perfectly OK until recent update, it is now messed up with this clutter and in some cases practically unusable.
Is there a ASB setting to get rid of these unnecessary on screen buttons?
If not there should be.

I agree with these comments about the new Bank Mode format.
The buttons are positioned in the worst possible place on the screen and cannot be re-positioned.
Why are they needed?
Away with them!

Reported to Avast. Let's see if that gets a reply.
(It's being looked at.)

Hi everyone,

thank you for your feedback. Bank mode is one of the features that we are changing these days and trying to improve it. We'll discuss these internally and let you know the outcome and another changes soon :).

Sorry for any inconvenience caused and don't hesitate to share more feedback!

Dissapointed no change to move bank mode screen clutter buttons in new ASB version 80.1.
Any progress on fixing this?

@Misa Zekovova,
Any news on fix for this this issue?
I got timed-out from a website today as the two user mode buttons in Bank Mode obscured the "need extra time" button at bottom of the screen.
If this issue is not fixed, I will be forced to return to another browser that displays the full screen area.
I can't even understand what the buttons actually do. Clicking "Standard Desktop" mode from "Bank Mode" just minimises bank mode screen.

I don't think it minimizes Bank Mode but switches you back to regular mode with any easy option to get back into Bank Mode.
I will free that the buttons while in Bank Mode aren't helpful and need to be redesigned and moved out of the viewing area.

That maybe the intended (expected) action, but that was not the observed effect here when I open ASB Bank Mode via tray icon menu.

I had opened Bank Mode from within the browser itself.
When you open it via the sys tray, it opens bank mode and then minimizes it when you select Standard Desktop.

@bob. Exactly. I tend to open Bank Mode from sys tray, so the unwanted buttons are um ...unwanted and not useful.

@Misa Zekovova, It is now weekend so hopefully a reply with some dev news next working week would be good.

I understand and agree with the comments here however, I'm certainly NOT going to stop using the Bank Mode if the changes are not immediate.

Agree. The buttons while they perform their intended function are an annoyance. Sometimes they cover up desirable information. There was nothing wrong with the old way to go from bank mode to desktop so if it aint broke, break it.
