Hi,
we're still working on UI adjustments, hopefully we'll let you know more in a week/two.

Thank you :)

Now nearly 2 months have passed and still no further news from Avast devs on this matter, even though we have had a version update since my initial post. Please remove or at least move these unwanted buttons from the browser window.

For me the (little) problem is mainly that there is no longer the  "switch back" button which transfers from bank mode directly to "avast secure browser" in normal mode. For this to be functional, we must open the bank mode via "ASB". So by returning to the workspace we return to ASB ... This is not the case if we have open bank mode directly with the antivirus icon in the taskbar.

Probably because via the taskbar icon, you're going directly into Bank Mode.
Via the browser, your opening a separate Secure Browser in Bank Mode. When you close it, you are left with the Browser.

Yes, that's exactly it... now.
But it wasn't until avast (secure browser) changed the UI, and that's what I was pointing out.
Also, the FAQ still hasn't been edited, so you can still see the "switch back" button to switch from bank mode directly to ASB, but also in the opposite direction without going through the menu with the (orange) "bank mode" button.

I now have both ASB 83.0 and Avast 20.5 installed. I am pleased to see the navigation buttons, that once took up valuable browser screen real estate, are now consigned to the bar below the screen. That fixes the issue I reported in my original post.
Thanks devs.

That fixes the issue I reported in my original post.
However, now there are users who complain that they have the big button on their desktop to return to bank mode if the mode has been reduced instead of closed.
A few months ago this button was only present on the ASB window in normal mode, as on my screenshot above.
nb:by the way the article has not been modified since the first changes of the UI 2 months ago.

A question to the designers of this new interface:
do you think this button on the desktop is more useful (and less annoying) than the (yellow) button we had 2 months ago that simply switched between ASB and bank mode?
Not for me anyway
We could always reduce ASB (and the toggle button) in the taskbar like any other program reduction.

You're right, I spoke too fast.
So it's even worse than expected.
I hope avast will be kind enough to make this button (stuck to the desk) disappear ... "Not Needed" as you say on your screenshot.

Oh. Yes that would definitely get my vote for "unwanted" browser screen clutter. I had not seen it before as I tend to enter Bank Mode via tray icon.

Also found another quirk of Bank Mode.
If you minimise a Bank Mode screen, you have to click the ASB icon at bottom of the screen twice to get it back.
However, if you then hit that ASB icon again it minimises, hit again it returns etc etc.
So why the double click needed after initial minimise?
To me that seems abnormal in MS windows environment and not intutive.

Hello everyone,

We released couple of updates, please make sure that your Avast is updated to 20.5. version and also don't forget to restart your browser.

Bob, about the "not needed button" - thank you raising this, we'll collect couple of more feedbacks about this and then we can make another decision about possible change. Will keep an eye on that.

rocksteady, about the "quirk problem" that you mentioned - Thank you for reporting this, we should solve this issue with next Avast release (internal note - EXT-565).

Thank you!

I also concur . . . recently I found out that if you minimize the whole Bank Mode window, the bottom data that was previously obscured can then be seen.
