why does it look like thi app has been abandoned by it dev?

Afaik, the devs are working on a new version of ACP.

This is one type of product I have never though worth the hassle and I'm not just talking about Avast's incarnation.

That said I do on a very infrequent occasion run the portable version of Privacy Eraser (free).  However it too can go very deep so you have to watch your settings.

Hi,

we haven't abandoned the app, in fact we've been struggling with internal security changes after the Abiss security incident.
However we have a new version of Cleanup ready in the queue which is just waiting to be released, hopefully soon (upcoming weeks).

We will definitely go with Beta version first to test whether it works correctly and the public release will be a bit later after that (usually 1-2 weeks after Beta).
