aswNetHub.sys BSOD
« on: April 16, 2020, 08:53:07 AM »
Hi to all =)
....several days ago everything seems to be Ok with my laptop, but yesterday....BSOD caused by aswNetHub.sys (some of Avast networking services)....trying to reboot - the same BSOD, caused by aswNetHub.sys but with another code with every rebooting. Unistalling Avast from safe mode helps. But when I cleaned registry and drive, and tries to install avast, downloaded from official site - BSOD again by aswNetHub.sys. What is it? =(((
Laptop: Panasonic Toughbook CF-30 Mk-2, Intel Core 2 Duo L7500, 4Gb DDR2 RAM, Windows 7 Pro x64 installed on SSD

Hi silent.stm,
we would need a memory.dmp file for analysis.
Dump file location is C:\Windows\memory. dmp (https://www.technlg.net/windows/windows-crash-dump-memorydmp-file/)
Compress the file as silent_stm_4_2020_BSOD.zip and upload it to avast ftp server.
avast ftp file upload FAQ
https://support.avast.com/en-eu/article/FTP-file-upload
Thank you !

There have been some avast emergency updates that go more or less unnoticed.
And it is precisely in the network / firewall context that these updates have been carried out

....the one and only way to have some protection now - reinstall antivirus WITHOUT ANY NETWORK PROTECTION FEATURES =(

Any update? My PC just crashed this morning, with the Stop Code being a PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA, and that exact file name right next to it. Very frustrating because I've never had any issues with Avast, and my family has used it since 2004 or so. And I had just reinstalled Avast on this PC today, after restoring it a couple of days ago... Is it just that Windows 8.1 isn't playing nice with Avast?? What's going on?!?!

3 days ago got similar BSOD. I catch this BSOD in the course of every shutdown routine for all those 3 days! Any new update issued?
I have Win7 x64 OS.
Avast Premium Security 20.5.2415 (build 20.5.5410.586)
******
On Fri 07.08.2020 20:46:08 GMT your computer crashed
crash dump file: C:\Windows\Minidump\080720-148200-01.dmp
This was probably caused by the following module: aswnethub.sys (aswNetHub+0x38ECC)
Bugcheck code: 0x48 (0xFFFFFA801C00DEE0, 0xFFFFF88005501ECC, 0x0, 0x0)
Error: CANCEL_STATE_IN_COMPLETED_IRP
file path: C:\Windows\system32\drivers\aswnethub.sys
product: Avast Antivirus
company: AVAST Software
description: Avast Network Security Driver
Bug check description: This indicates that an I/O request packet (IRP) was completed, and then was subsequently canceled.
This appears to be a typical software driver bug and is not likely to be caused by a hardware problem.
A third party driver was identified as the probable root cause of this system error. It is suggested you look for an update for the following driver: aswnethub.sys (Avast Network Security Driver, AVAST Software).

Dump file has been sent to technical support. Waiting for their reply.
