New browser version 80.1
« on: April 16, 2020, 06:28:07 PM »
Hello everyone,

We're pleased to announce that we have released a new stable version of Avast Secure Browser (ASB) - version 80.1. This new version is a minor update, but has some important changes, security patches and fixes.

Changes:
 - New Security & Privacy Center Icon
 - Add browser favicon to New Tab Page
 - Hides Flash Blocker tile in Security & Privacy Center

Fixes:
 - Audio and Video not available on web.skype
 - Passwords can be imported from Chrome 80
 - Spoof user agent works on all sites

How to get this latest version:
If you have ASB already installed, it should be updated automatically (feel free to visit "secure://settings/help" to trigger an update faster)
Alternatively, you can download and install ASB from our official site here: https://www.avast.com/secure-browser

We hope you enjoy the changes we have made, and as always we would love to hear your feedback. In case you have an Android phone, please try out the recently launched Android version of Avast Secure Browser, more information here https://www.avast.com/secure-browser#android or go straight to the Google Play Store https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.avast.android.secure.browser

I removed the browser in a flawed attempt to eliminate the automatic startup glitch, and when I try to install this latest it attempts twice and then fails.  I even tried running the installer as Admin (Windows 10).

Wondering what might be preventing the (re) install.

So I am now without the browser at all

Everything seems to have gone wrong with this update.
As above, my Avast Browser ceased working and all attempts to reinstall have failed. The installation gives up after a couple of retries and reports an error.
Have run the uninstall file and the .bat file as advised elsewhere but to no avail.
Chrome still works though!

I was tried to install this new ASB, but seems like still got problem after a few trials. I was trying to update through old ver. ASB but it's not working. Then I tried to install the new ASB, it is working just once before I shutdown my pc. Then when I turned on back my pc today, the ASB was totally broken. I tried to install it again but after 2nd attempts, it become an error.

@Aki Riiko
Maybe you just need to start afresh with a proper uninstall then re-install.
