When Avast was originally installed, was it installed in it's default folder or, was a different folder or drive selected?
I'm asking because I've done literally 100's of removals and re-installs and have never runinto this problem with a re-install.

program files/avast software/avast/
That suggests you installed avast in default folder. I have just looked at my Win10 avast installation and find I have files in same locations you have mentioned.
I have no idea why avastclear has failed to clean everything off your system. That would probably need an answer from the devs.
Did you try and remove avast some other way before using avastclear removal tool?

Bob3160, yes it was installed in default folder.

Rocksteady, first I uninstalled Avast AV and Avast browser using Revo uninstaller, then I used the avastclear tool. Devs?

I guess I just can't delete all these files containing "avast" on my laptop?

To get a totally clean start, there's no reason not to get rid of those files, folders and reg. entries.
If this is a paid version make sure that you can access the license during or after the installation.

Bob3160, I uninstalled it and I don't want to reinstall the software.  Are you saying that I can just delete all avast folder/file entries that I find on my laptop without causing any issues to windows?
