Stuck in endless cycle - help

Dear saviors,

I downloaded Avast free security for Mac. Minutes after installing successfully and finishing the virus check, I was no longer able to access the internet. I eventually figured out that this was due to the avast install.

I uninstalled avast using another device to look at the avast site instructions for how to do so.

I still don't have internet access.

I tried to re-install avast to see if I could uninstall again in some other way. I am not able to do this, I get the below screenshot.

Now I have a computer that true, has no viruses, but is UTTERLY AND COMPLETELY USELESS BECAUSE I CAN'T ACCESS THE INTERNET.

If anyone has help, greatly appreciated. I am not super tech savvy so details always appreciated if you have any instructions/ideas.

Would you mind to try restart your Mac? It helps in quite a lot of similar situations after install/uninstall of any product.
