Software Updater not working

Avast Free 20.2.2401 (build 20.2.5130.571) Win10 1909.
I have today updated some programs to later versions from their genuine original websites, although Avast Software Update said older versions were latest available. e.g. CCleaner 5.63, VLC Player 3.0.8. Note I have Auto Updates=OFF.
I remember seeing someone else reporting on forum that Flash Player was not marked as out of date by Software Updater, so is this a general issue with this component?

I see you found the other post I was referring and pointed it here.
Sometimes difficult to know which day of the week it is under lock-down, but I agree today is the weekend.

Well i also feel that it doesn't add all the applications that needs to be updated it rather chooses some and leaves others out as you can see that it states that I have 6 applications on my Computer

Software Updater has never flagged updates for all applications on the PC, just a select few. Your list is not much different from mine.
Just find it useful to spot new updates that may otherwise get forgotten.

Correct, and if I recall correctly it was more to do with popular applications and ones that if exploited have a very big audience/target.

Well if that was never its purpose to update all programs, then it is doing what it intended.

Well i do hear you but if so then it is still failing to update those popular application as you can see that it states that Ccleaner is Upto date while  version 5.66.7716 of Ccleaner has been released

I don't use ccleaner, so I can't comment.  But since Avast Software also own CCleaner, I think they should know
