Avast Uninstall Killed MacBook Pro
« on: May 20, 2020, 05:38:11 AM »
I have a mid 2012 MacBook Pro. Recently, I tried uninstalling the application by dragging the Avast icons into the trash. I was able to drag two of the three icons into the trash. The third icon gave me an error about not being able to be put into trash because the application was open. At this point I shut down the computer. Now the computer won't boot past the Apple logo screen. The bar gets to about 75% and then the computer shuts down. I've tried resetting the NVRAM and booting into safe mode, but to no avail. The computer simply shuts down faster when I make these attempts.

I saw another post on this forum that was very similar to my issue, but it has no replies. I am hoping that creating a new topic draws attention to this issue. Can anyone please help?
